Dan Sundell
Adventuresome. Diplomatic. Patient.
Growing up the son of a Forest Ranger in Idaho gave me an appreciation for the outdoors. Landscape Architecture has allowed me to combine this interest with my other passion which is design. As a more senior member of the JKLA staff, my career has continued to evolve. My early career was in the Pacific Northwest working on site design projects for clients such as Hewlett Packard, Micron and the US Forest Service. After relocating to Western New York, the projects that I have been involved in became larger –scale and more planning-based. However, since joining JKLA, I am happy to focus again on site-specific landscape design projects close to home that actually get built.

I am happy to have played a part in the East Spring Street Green Infrastructure Improvement project in Williamsville, NY. It is a great example of a built project that is a center piece of the community. In addition to providing a significant aesthetic upgrade to the area surrounding the iconic and historic Mill Building, the project includes extensive green infrastructure components such as pervious paving and rain gardens that will clean stormwater runoff and reduce its peak volume.
