Schoellkopf Park, Phase 2
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center
Niagara Falls, NY

Adjacent to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical is a large open green space that was once a prominent park within Niagara Falls. The medical center wanted to better utilize this green space, restore the once historic park and create a dynamic feature for the City of Niagara Falls, surrounding neighborhoods and for the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center across from the park and hospital.

Phase 1 of the project was completed by October of 2006. Phase 2 was underway the summer of 2007 and saw the installation of additional plantings, bench seating to closely match the historic furnishings, multiple styles of lighting from large decorative poles with hanging baskets to bollards. Elms, Oaks, Redbuds and Ivory Silk Lilacs were added to the beautiful existing trees on the site. A three foot high decorative steel fence and piers were added to set off the perimeter and compliment the historic piers on Pine Avenue.

The installation of a central fountain will commence in the spring of 2008 and will be a striking addition to this quaint park.
