Racine Intermodal Center
Racine, Wisconsin Architect: Wendel Duchscherer The design of a 20 slip bus transfer facility adjacent to an historic rail depot at the Northern gateway to the city of Racine provides a “Sawtooth” bus circulation pattern, with a prime pedestrian cross-spine to facilitate easy and safe pedestrian movement throughout the facility. The first phase, the bus transfer area, was designed to be sympathetic to the existing rail depot through materials and setbacks. Future phases provide a pedestrian link between the facility and the depot with café seating areas and planting areas reminiscent of the original 1880 design. |
