Outer Harbor
Study and Design Proposal
Buffalo, NY

Design and Presentation drawings were presented to the Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER which showed an alternative vision for the development of the NFTA land located at the Outer Harbor along Lake Erie. The design of the area focused on preserving open spaces for public use which incorporated recreation areas, trails, open play fields, seating areas, outdoor performance space and habitat preservation and areas for habitat restoration and shoreline stabilization. The design also included high density mixed use development at either end of the public open space, along existing water slip inlets. These mixed use developments were intended to be reminiscent of Buffalo’s unique architecture of the late 19th century, incorporating some existing buildings and included residential, retail, and restaurant components as well as small water craft access.
